Received Notice for St. Boniface Hospital
We received the attached notice from St Boniface Hospital late in the day yesterday. This notice sets out the anticipated changes that will be implemented no sooner than December 1st, 2017.
The notice is vague and does state that these are the maximum number of EFT’s that could be affected. Marie has already contacted Employee Relations and confirmed the following:
- These are maximums. There could be less impact to the departments but this has not yet been finalized and will depend on the labour adjustment strategy.
- There could be increases to EFT’s depending on program/service changes at the hospital but those have not yet been finalized
Attached is article 18.03 & 23.02 from your CBA that speak about position deletions and rotation changes for your reference.
Carmela and Marie will be meeting with Senior Management at the WRHA and management from St Boniface Hospital on Tuesday, August 8th at 10:30 a.m. There is also a Shop Steward meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 8th at 5 p.m. where among other things, we will be finalizing details for a Rally at St. Boniface Hospital. We will send out follow up communications after these two meetings.
We still do not have all the specifics and do not have all the answers, but we will ensure that you are all up to date on all changes affecting members of UFCW as soon as we can. As always, feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
We have kept a document of all questions that you have been asking to the Reps, they will be brought to our meetings with management to get as many answers we can.
This letter has been mailed out to all members at St. Boniface informing these changes, they should receive this in the mail next Tuesday or Wednesday. If you know of anyone in the hospital who did not receive this by email, we ask you to please forward this to them, and encourage them to sign up for email updates here on the website.
UFCW reps will be on-site next week, Watch the union boards, website, and email for time and location details.
