Labour adjustment strategy finalized for members at St. Boniface Hospital.
Agreement regarding the upcoming changes. At this meeting we finalized the “Employment Security Process”, this is the process that will be used in the “bumping office”.
So now what??
All rotations for UFCW/SBGH positions, including the new rotations for affected positions will be posted outside of Human Resources by 9:00 a.m. Monday April 29, 2019. Updated seniority lists will be posted outside of Human Resources and at the Union bulletin board. Please review your seniority hours and let the Union and the Hospital know ASAP if there are any issues so we can look into the matter.
Members will be receiving deletion notices from the Hospital beginning Wednesday May 1st, 2019. These notices will be hand delivered to affected members currently on the schedule and mailed out to members on a Leave of Absence.
As outlined in the Labour Adjustment Strategy, members will be scheduled an appointment by seniority to select their new position/rotation beginning Tuesday May 21st, 2019.
When you receive your deletion notice you have 3 options:
- Exercise your right under the Collective Agreement to “bump” (this process is outlined in the enclosed document)
- Accept a layoff
- Be placed on the appropriate casual roster
We have also enclosed a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) document for your review.
A copy of the position selection form is also enclosed and extra forms will be available in the Human Resources Department.
The enclosed signed Labour Adjustment strategy outlines all of the procedures for the bumping office and is in full compliance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement. If at any time you have any questions or would like to meet one on one to discuss your options, please call your full-time Union Rep to schedule an appointment. Carmela Abraham, full-time Union Representative, will be in the bumping office for each of the scheduled appointments and will be able to answer any questions you may have during your scheduled meeting.
